Edited by: Ek Soshnikova

The project focused on the humanization of the streets in the parish of Nebra has been selected as a finalist in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale.

Among 32 finalists from across Spain, the initiative by architect José Carlos Seoane stands out as the only one centered on public space. The project emphasizes restoring the area's original character while enhancing accessibility through a geometric design that mimics the watercourse along the street, crafted using traditional construction methods by local artisans.

Key improvements include the renewal of the pavement with wild granite cobblestones and the adaptation of public spaces to meet contemporary needs. Additionally, the project involved the underground installation of electrical and telecommunications networks, along with the installation of stainless steel railings and handrails in areas with challenging slopes.
