Researchers analyzed data from the IRAS and AKARI far-infrared, all-sky surveys, conducted 23 years apart, to identify potential candidates.
The team identified one object that fits the criteria, considering factors like orbit, temperature, and mass, though they acknowledge further confirmation is needed.
Planet Nine, if it exists, is estimated to be around 400 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun, far beyond Neptune's orbit at 31 AU.
Confirmation of Planet Nine would significantly enhance our understanding of the Solar System's history and structure.
