G3 Geomagnetic Storm Watch: Earth Impact Expected April 16 from Solar Eruptions

Earth is expected to be hit by G3-class geomagnetic storms on April 16. The NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) has issued a geomagnetic storm watch. This is due to two coronal mass ejections (CMEs) anticipated to impact Earth.

These CMEs resulted from a double eruption of solar magnetic filaments on April 12 and 13. The expected storms may result in auroras visible in Canada and northern U.S. states.
