April 2025: Witness Planetary Alignments and Celestial Events

Edited by: Uliana S.

April 2025 offers several exciting celestial events for stargazers. On April 5, Mars will be at its closest point to the waxing crescent Moon. Later in April, skywatchers can observe Venus and Saturn aligning near the waning crescent Moon on April 25, with the Moon positioned between them. The following day, April 26, Mercury will align with the crescent Moon. Around sunrise on April 21, Mercury will reach its greatest western elongation, marking one of its two points farthest from the sun. On the morning of April 25, Venus, Saturn, and the crescent moon may appear to form a smiley face in the sky, low in the east before dawn. With a clear view to the horizon, Mercury may also be visible below them.
