Luxembourg's Fondation Jeunes Scientifique Luxembourg (FJSL) will host the 54th annual "Jonk Fuerscher" national competition on March 15th, showcasing over 80 research and innovation projects by 140 young talents aged 11-21. The projects span various scientific fields, including physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering, computer science, environmental science, space science, and social sciences. The event will feature interactive stands and activities. Key moments, including jury sessions and award ceremonies, will be broadcast live. In other news, Cortical Labs in Australia has developed the CL1, the first computer powered by human neurons. This biocomputer uses a chip with neurons cultivated from stem cells, offering an alternative to silicon-based systems. The CL1 combines lab-grown brain cells with specialized hardware, consuming significantly less energy than traditional supercomputers. Cortical Labs plans to launch Cortical Cloud, providing remote access to the biocomputers for research and development.
