The Hubble Space Telescope celebrates 35 years in orbit, releasing stunning new deep-space images.
Launched April 24, 1990, Hubble has revolutionized our understanding of the cosmos. The anniversary is marked with breathtaking views, including a detailed composite of Mars from December 2024, showcasing water-ice clouds and surface features like Olympus Mons.
Hubble also unveiled NGC 2899, a planetary nebula 4,500 light-years away, displaying a bipolar gas outflow shaped by a white dwarf. Another image captures a section of the Rosette Nebula, revealing dark hydrogen gas clouds eroded by radiation.
Finally, Hubble presents a face-on view of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 5335, 100 million light-years away, featuring patchy star-forming regions. These images highlight Hubble's continued role in revealing the beauty and complexity of the cosmos.
