A Soyuz capsule carrying two Russian cosmonauts and one NASA astronaut successfully docked at the International Space Station (ISS). The launch took place at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The crew consists of Russian cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Subritzki, and NASA astronaut Jonny Kim. During their mission, they will conduct scientific experiments. The mission is scheduled to last approximately 245 days and includes planned spacewalks. For Ryzhikov, this marks his third journey into space, while it is the first for both Subritzki and Kim. Space travel continues to be an area of cooperation between the U.S. and Russia.
