China is planning to construct a massive telescope on the far side of the Moon to enhance the exploration of the universe. The project aims to capture long-wavelength cosmic signals unaffected by Earth's atmosphere. The far side of the Moon offers an ideal environment, free from interference such as radiation from Starlink satellites. The telescope will consist of over 7,200 butterfly-shaped antennas, spanning over 30 kilometers, to provide high resolution and sensitivity for exploring the early universe and exoplanets. Initial construction will be carried out by robots, with human astronauts joining later phases after the establishment of a Chinese lunar research base. The project is planned to be completed within a decade, with the lunar station expected to take shape by 2035.
