Unseasonal wet weather has persisted across parts of Saurashtra and north Gujarat for six consecutive days. Parts of Porbandar and Rajkot districts recorded three to four inches of rainfall.
Idar town in Banaskantha experienced 4 inches of rain within two hours, leading to waterlogging. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a gradual return of higher temperatures.
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise by 3°C to 5°C over the next week. The IMD has issued a thunderstorm alert for central and south Gujarat, and the Saurashtra-Kutch region.
