Oman Inaugurates Major Dams for Flood Protection in Salalah

Oman's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources is set to inaugurate two significant dams in Salalah this week. This initiative aims to bolster flood protection measures in the Dhofar region.

The Wadi Annar Dam, boasting a storage capacity of approximately 16 million cubic meters, will be inaugurated on Sunday. Constructed at a cost of RO23 million, it is a crucial element in Salalah's flood protection system.

The Wadi Adawnib Dam, the largest in Salalah's flood protection network, will be officially opened on Monday. With a storage capacity of 83 million cubic meters, this RO24 million project reduces flood risk and enhances water security.
