Following severe flooding and landslides in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan, Indonesia, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has provided disaster relief. The aid, valued at Rp756.8 million, includes essential supplies for affected residents. These supplies consist of blankets, boots, jackets, hygiene kits, clothing, generators, raincoats, food staples, field beds, mattresses, and kitchen sets.

The BNPB emphasized the importance of preparedness and swift action in mitigating the impact of such disasters. They also acknowledged the efforts of local authorities and first responders in ensuring the safety of residents. Weather forecasts indicate continued potential for moderate to heavy rainfall in the Papua Pegunungan region in the coming week.

The agency is focusing on meeting the basic needs of the affected population, particularly vulnerable groups such as infants, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Attention is also being paid to potential health issues in evacuation centers, such as diarrhea and skin infections.
