A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck near Versalles, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, on April 16, 2025, at 2:10 AM local time. The epicenter was located 22 km (13 mi) west of La Union, Departamento del Valle del Cauca.
The earthquake had a moderate depth of 120 km (75 mi). Initial reports suggest that the earthquake was not widely felt. Colombia is a seismically active country due to the interaction of the Nazca, South American, and Caribbean tectonic plates. This interaction results in frequent earthquakes across the country.
