Wildfire Erupts on Isle of Arran, Scotland, April 10

A wildfire broke out on the Isle of Arran, northwest of Brodick, Scotland, on April 10. Firefighting teams responded to the blaze after 1 PM. Smoke is visible across a wide area, and several footpaths are closed as a precaution. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) issued an extreme wildfire warning across Scotland, urging the public to exercise caution and avoid outdoor fires. A grass fire also occurred near John Kennedy Drive in Thurso, Highlands, requiring residents to keep doors and windows shut due to heavy smoke. Police Scotland advises the public to avoid the area, specifically footpaths into Glen Rosa, Goatfell, and Glen Sannox.
