Romania Experiences Sudden Weather Shift: From Spring to Winter in 24 Hours

Edited by: Tetiana Martynovska 17

Romania witnessed a dramatic weather shift. After a day with spring-like temperatures reaching 21 degrees Celsius, heavy clouds brought summer-like storms with thunder, lightning, and hail to many areas. Meteorologists issued warnings for extreme weather phenomena. Overnight, temperatures are expected to drop significantly. A yellow code for snowfall, blizzard conditions, and strong winds is in effect for most of the country. Mountain temperatures, which exceeded 17 degrees Celsius during the day, are predicted to fall below 0 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected to turn into sleet and snow, initially in mountainous regions and then in lower areas. Wind intensification is also anticipated across most regions, with predominantly negative nighttime temperatures expected. A warming trend is forecast from the middle of next week, but temperatures will remain below normal.
