A tornado struck WFLA-TV, an NBC affiliate in Tampa, Florida, on March 9, 2025, during a live weather broadcast. The incident forced meteorologists and staff to take cover as the storm damaged the building.

The tornado, classified as an EF-2 with wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km per hour), caused power fluctuations and structural damage, including shattered windows and roof damage. While no injuries were reported among the station's staff, vehicles in the parking lot were overturned, and debris was scattered.

The station resumed broadcasting from a backup studio. The National Weather Service is monitoring for further severe weather in the Southeast.
