A bipartisan congressional briefing titled “Understanding UAP: Science, National Security & Innovation” took place on May 1, 2025, addressing the need for increased scientific involvement in investigations of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). The UAP Disclosure Fund, in collaboration with the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, hosted the briefing.
Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon official and UAP whistleblower, and Avi Loeb, a Harvard astrophysicist, were among those advocating for the release of more UAP data and pushing for improved detection methods for unidentified objects. The briefing convened figures from science, defense, and technology to discuss UAP implications for science, national security, and innovation.
Matthew Brown, a former US national security official, has come forward as the whistleblower behind a report alleging a secret Pentagon program tracking UAPs. Brown, who revealed the 'Immaculate Constellation Field Report,' claims the Executive Branch has been operating UAP programs in secret for decades without congressional oversight and fears for his safety after exposing the program.
