Edited by: Aurelia One

The UK's National Oceanography Centre (NOC) launched its new Innovation Hub in Southampton on April 9, 2025. Backed by a £200,000 investment, this hub aims to accelerate ocean technology advancements and support sustainable growth within the blue economy. The facility serves as a catalyst for innovation in marine autonomous systems (MAS), uniting researchers, businesses, and entrepreneurs. It features meeting spaces, acoustic smart pods, and office spaces across 304 sq m floor space. NOC Innovations manages the hub, expanding services from the former Marine Robotics Innovation Centre (MRIC). The goal is to double the Innovation Hub membership, already attracting organizations like The Ocean Conservation Trust. Tiered memberships are available for businesses of all sizes, including Strategic, Affiliate, and Kick-Start memberships. Mark Hamson is the Innovation Hub Manager.
