Holkar Science College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has initiated the state's first plantation drive focused on Rare, Endangered, and Threatened (RET) medicinal plants.

Led by Professor Dr. Sanjay Vyas, the project aims to conserve India's endangered Ayurvedic heritage, reviving species threatened by deforestation and industrial extraction.

The initiative has already expanded to several locations, with support from the forest department and endorsement from the World Book of Records.

Saplings are sourced from biodiversity hotspots like Tamia and Pachmarhi, known for their rare flora.

This endeavor highlights the college's commitment to environmental conservation and education.

The college has previously launched projects to promote sustainable practices and support local communities.

These efforts include an online certificate course on advanced farming techniques and an organic mushroom cultivation project.

Holkar Science College continues to be a key player in advancing botanical education and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
