Despite its reputation as a concrete jungle, Delhi harbors a surprising wealth of flora. Remnants of the Aravalli hills and Yamuna floodplains provide refuge for rare plant species, maintaining regional ecological balance.

The Aravalli Biodiversity Park, a 692-acre sanctuary, showcases over 300 plant species native to the Aravalli range. It features rare species like Anogeissus pendula and Boswellia serrata, fostering biodiversity for birds, reptiles, and insects.

The Delhi Ridge, known as the city's "green lungs," supports numerous rare medicinal plants. Vasaka (Adhatoda vasica) and Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) thrive here, benefiting traditional medicine, preserving soil, and supporting local wildlife.
