Two classes from Aichach Middle School, with the support of local officials, recently planted 225 trees in the Aichach district forest. This initiative aims to enhance the forests' resilience and promote adaptation to climate change.
The students focused on planting climate-resilient tree species, including sweet chestnuts and maple trees. The project seeks to transform the existing spruce monocultures into mixed stands, which are better equipped to withstand extreme weather events, drought, and pests.
Furthermore, the initiative aims to raise awareness among students and the community about the crucial role forests play as habitats, climate regulators, and recreational areas.
