The Centre permanent d'initiatives pour l'environnement (CPIE) Vallées de la Sarthe et du Loir is organizing a series of botany workshops to teach participants how to identify local plants. The program is open to everyone and will be held across three sessions in Spring and Summer 2025.

Located in La Flèche, in the Sarthe region of France, the CPIE invites nature enthusiasts to an introduction to botany. The first session is scheduled for April 19, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm at the Bruère site near the mill. Subsequent sessions will take place on May 17 and July 19, 2025.

These sessions will combine classroom-based theoretical learning with practical field exploration. Participants will learn the basics of botany and then venture out to identify various plant species in their natural habitats, observing seasonal changes.

Participants will learn how to use botanical identification keys to observe, differentiate, and name plants, guided by experienced CPIE instructors.

A registration fee of €5 for non-members makes this an accessible and affordable opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the local flora of the Sarthe region.
