Genoa, Italy, officially opened the Dune Park in Pra' on April 11, 2025. This project transformed the southern bank of the Pra' canal into a vibrant public green space. Costing approximately €14.5 million, the park aims to integrate port activities with the urban environment. The park features shaped dunes covered in Mediterranean vegetation, acting as visual screens and noise barriers for the port terminal. These dunes are accessible via a scenic path, enhancing biodiversity and aiding in CO2 reduction. The refurbished promenade includes a cycle path and themed plazas for recreation, sports, and events, marking a significant step in blending port development with urban living. The park covers 40,000 square meters and includes 720 meters of promenade.
