The Aguamarga dunes on Alicante's southern coast are set for ecological recovery. Spain's Directorate-General of Coast and Sea has launched a project to restore the coastal section of the Aguamarga salt marsh. The project, budgeted at €341,126.64, will focus on the area between Cala de los Borrachos and Urbanova, aiming to rehabilitate the ecosystem through native species reintroduction and invasive flora removal. Obsolete structures will be demolished, and pedestrian paths will be created to regulate access. The Alicante City Council has pledged to maintain the restored infrastructure.
