Desert Botanical Garden Unveils Rare Orchid Exhibit: A Conservation Showcase

Edited by: Anulyazolotko Anulyazolotko

The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is hosting its first-ever indoor orchid show, 'Orchid Fever,' at the new RAF Exhibit Gallery. The exhibit features over 3,000 blooming orchids, including endangered and rare species. The exhibit aims to highlight the juxtaposition of orchids in desert and tropical environments, with terraced beds referencing the Sonoran Desert mountains. The new building's infrastructure, including north-facing windows and climate control, allows the Garden to showcase these delicate plants and highlight conservation efforts for Arizona's 26 native orchid species, most of which are endangered. The exhibit runs until May 11, 2025.
