Edited by: Anulyazolotko Anulyazolotko

The Ljubljana University Botanic Garden presented a new book highlighting 233 years of botanical collaboration between Ljubljana and Vienna, focusing on the partnership between Franc Hladnik and Nicolaus Thomas Host in the spirit of the Enlightenment. The book details their work, which began in the Julian Alps in 1792, leading to the creation of gardens showcasing Austrian and Slovenian flora. Despite political changes, their exchange of seeds and knowledge continued. Additionally, an electronic book on the Wollemi pine, a rare Australian conifer discovered in 1994, was presented as an example of global species conservation. Ljubljana's Botanic Garden is one of only 38 worldwide selected to protect this species, underscoring its global reputation and long history.
