A new population of the plant species 'Fumaria munbyi' has been discovered in Cabo Cope, Águilas (Murcia), Spain, by the ecological association AMACOPE. This plant is considered a botanical jewel but is classified as 'Endangered' on the 'Red List of Spanish Vascular Flora' due to its extremely limited number of specimens. Its distribution is mainly limited to the northwest coast of Algeria, with only three previous sightings in Europe. This new discovery marks the fourth location in Europe and makes Águilas the only continental European location with two populations of 'Fumaria munbyi'. AMACOPE urges the regional government to take immediate measures to prevent its disappearance and to maintain the conservation status of all located populations. They also advocate for its inclusion in the Regional Catalogue of Wild Flora and a specific Recovery Plan.
