A new trail called Puentes Nuevas has opened in Salamanca, Spain, offering a unique experience with the changing seasons. Located in Las Casas del Conde, the smallest municipality in Castilla y León, the 4.2-kilometer circular route showcases the region's rich natural beauty. The trail follows the Francia River, providing hikers with diverse flora and fauna. Spring transforms the landscape into a floral blanket, while autumn brings mushrooms, summer offers dense forest cover, and winter reveals the roots of trees along the riverbank. The area is ideal for birdwatching and wildlife observation, with species like genets, badgers, deer, and wild boars. The river's clear waters are home to trout and various amphibians, indicating the water's quality. The trail also features historical remnants, including old mills, shepherd huts, and sections of a Roman road, enhancing the hiking experience.
