SeaWorld Orlando has reached a milestone of 1,000 manatee rescues since 1976, highlighting its commitment to marine conservation. The park operates one of the nation's three critical care facilities for manatees, aiding those affected by cold stress, boat strikes, and entanglements. In 2024 alone, SeaWorld rescued 61 manatees and successfully rehabilitated and released 38.
The facility collaborates with the Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership (MRP) and other organizations to enhance conservation efforts. SeaWorld also focuses on public education, promoting safe boating and environmental stewardship. A notable success story is the rescue and rehabilitation of Reckless and her calf, Churro, who recovered after a severe boat strike thanks to intensive care over 20 months. SeaWorld's rescue teams are available 24/7, contributing to the rescue of over 41,000 animals in need over the past 60 years.
