Six Sugar Gliders Rescued After Abandonment Outside Scottish Supermarket: Now Under Care at Five Sisters Zoo

Six adorable sugar gliders have been rescued after being found abandoned outside a Lidl supermarket in Scotland. Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder received an urgent call from Police Scotland and the Scottish SPCA regarding the incident. The tiny possums were discovered inside a box in what the rehabilitation team described as a shocking case of animal abandonment. The sugar gliders are now undergoing a 30-day quarantine period under the care of the zoo. During this time, the animal care team is closely assessing their health and behavior to ensure they receive the attention and support they need to recover. Sugar gliders are nocturnal, tree-dwelling marsupials native to Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. They can live between 12-14 years as pets when looked after correctly.
