Colombia Updates Passport Fees for 2025

The Colombian Foreign Ministry has announced updated passport fees for 2025. Prices will vary based on the type of passport and region, with provisions for vulnerable groups to obtain passports free of charge.

Starting October 2024, the Ministry has adjusted passport services following the announcement that Thomas Greg & Sons (TGS) will continue manufacturing passports until September 2025. After this date, the Casa de la Moneda de Portuga will take over production from a facility located in the National Printing Office of Colombia.

The listed fees apply to Bogotá, while additional departmental taxes must be added for other regions, which can be checked with the corresponding Governor’s Office. Last October, the government implemented a 12% reduction in passport prices; thus, the cost for 2025 remains lower than that of the early months of 2024.

The Foreign Ministry offers free processing for citizens belonging to vulnerable groups or those needing to leave the country for special reasons. The requirements to access this benefit include scheduling a virtual appointment through a designated link. On the appointment day, applicants must appear at the selected office for a photo, fingerprinting, and signature. Required documents must be presented during this process.
