Elvis' Legacy Lives on: 1969 Vegas Show Recreated

Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Elvis Presley's impact on Las Vegas entertainment history is being celebrated with a recreation of his iconic 1969 show. The Westgate Las Vegas, formerly the International Hotel where Elvis performed, is hosting a one-night-only event.

On July 31, 2025, Travis Powell, an Elvis tribute artist, will recreate Presley's debut concert from 1969. The show will feature nine backup singers and an eight-piece band, mirroring the original performance.

Elvis' initial run at the International broke all Vegas entertainment records. He performed 636 consecutive sold-out shows over seven years. Presley sold over one billion records worldwide and received 14 Grammy nominations and three wins.

The Westgate offers historic Elvis tours and an annual Elvis festival. Tickets for the special one-night show range from $10-$45. A free encore performance, The King Comes Home, will follow the concert.
