Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Latin music is booming in the United States, with consumption increasing by 30% over the last five years, significantly impacting the American music industry.

A study indicates that Spanish-language songs are gaining traction, now representing 7% of major US charts. Artists such as Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Peso Pluma are key drivers of this trend. Karol G was honored at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music event.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reported that Latin music generated 7.9% of total recorded music revenue in 2024, a notable rise from 5.6% in 2020. This positions Latin music as a vital and growing segment of the music business.

Lourdes Moreno Cazalla, the author of the study, highlights that Latin music promotes linguistic diversity and is reshaping the music market in the US, reflecting a broader cultural evolution.
