Selena Gomez was honored with the Woman of the Year award at the Billboard Mujeres Latinas en la Música 2025 on April 24 in Miami. The event celebrates women who have made a significant impact on the Latin music industry. Due to filming commitments in New York for "Only Murders in the Building," Gomez accepted the award via a recorded message.

In her speech, Gomez reflected on her Mexican heritage and the importance of representation. She acknowledged her work to be seen and celebrated by women who share her roots. Gomez also expressed gratitude to her fans for their support over the years. The ceremony also honored other prominent figures such as Anitta, Belinda, Chiquis, Ha*Ash, Natti Natasha, Olga Tañón, and Celia Cruz posthumously.

Gomez has achieved significant success in the Latin music market, particularly with her EP "Revelación" (2021), which topped the Top Latin Albums chart. Her collaboration with Rauw Alejandro, "Baila Conmigo," also achieved success on the Latin charts. Beyond music, Gomez is known for her brand Rare Beauty, recognized as one of the most influential companies by Time. A portion of Rare Beauty's sales supports mental health initiatives through the Rare Beauty Impact Fund.
