Deezer Faces AI Music Surge: 18% of Daily Uploads Now AI-Generated in April 2025

Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Deezer has reported a significant surge in AI-generated music uploads, with over 20,000 tracks received daily as of April 2025. This accounts for approximately 18% of all daily uploads to the platform, a notable increase from the 10% reported in January 2025.

To manage this influx, Deezer launched an AI detection tool in January 2025. This tool is designed to identify and filter out fully AI-generated tracks from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, aiming to protect the rights and revenue of artists and songwriters.

Deezer's AI detection tool focuses on identifying music entirely generated by AI, including content from popular AI models like Suno and Udio. Notably, Suno and Udio faced copyright infringement lawsuits from major labels in 2024. Deezer has committed to excluding AI-made tracks from algorithmic and editorial recommendations. Other platforms like Spotify also address AI's impact, allowing users to report identity and voice theft, though Spotify generally permits AI music as long as it doesn't violate content policies.
