BigHit Music announced the album, highlighting Jin's desire to connect with fans more frequently after completing his military service in June 2024. 'Echo' will feature seven tracks showcasing his vocals against a band sound.
Promotion for 'Echo' began on April 15, 2025, with video screenings at K-POP SQUARE MEDIA COEX in Seoul. The videos, played every 30 minutes, reveal the release date. Pre-orders for the album started on April 15, 2025.
Jin's first solo album, 'Happy,' achieved success, debuting at number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. The title track, 'Running Wild,' reached number 53 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Digital Song Sales chart. Other tracks from 'Happy' also charted on the Billboard Global charts.
