Grammy-winning artist Maren Morris has announced her fourth studio album, 'Dreamsicle,' set to release on Friday, May 9. The announcement, made via social media and her newsletter, also teased the release of the first single, 'Carry Me Through,' this Thursday, March 27. Morris described the album as taking place "in the aftermath of loosening my grip on my personal and professional life," highlighting themes of grief and joy. This news follows a period of significant personal and professional changes for Morris, including her divorce from Ryan Hurd in January 2023 and the release of the EP 'The Bridge,' which hinted at a potential shift in her musical direction. She later clarified that she wasn't entirely leaving country music but expressed a desire to distance herself from its more toxic aspects. In June 2024, Morris also came out as bisexual in an Instagram post. Her recent EP, 'Intermission,' released in August 2024, served as a bridge between her previous album, 'Humble Quest' (2022), and this new chapter. Morris has described songwriting as a crucial outlet during challenging times, resulting in some of her most honest work.
