Capital Bra: A Decade of Dominance in Music and Business

Capital Bra, born Vladislav Balovatsky on November 23, 1994, has become a titan in the German music scene. Celebrating his 30th birthday today, he has achieved remarkable milestones in a short span of time. With nearly 12 million records sold and 20 number-one hits in Germany, he has secured 30 gold and 15 platinum certifications.

His journey began in 2014 at the rap battle show 'Rap am Mittwoch,' where he quickly gained fame. His debut album, 'Kuku Bra,' reached number 32 in the German album charts in 2016, while its successor, 'Makarov Komplex,' climbed to number two in Germany and number one in Austria in 2017. However, it was his 2018 album 'Berlin lebt' that catapulted him to stardom, remaining in the charts for 55 weeks and yielding four consecutive number-one hits.

In 2019, Capital Bra founded his own label, 'Bra Musik,' after leaving 'Team Kuku.' He has also ventured into business, launching his own iced tea brand, 'BraTee,' which sold over 80 million units in just two years, generating an impressive 120 million euros in revenue. Additionally, his frozen pizza line, 'Gangstarella,' has sold over 9.5 million units, earning him the Pizza Gold Award.

Despite his success, Capital Bra faced challenges, including a decline in his chart performance and personal threats. His latest album, 'CB7,' released in September 2020, marked his last number-one album in Germany. As of now, his singles struggle to reach the top 100, indicating a shift in his popularity.

Capital Bra's story reflects the dynamic nature of the music industry and the impact of streaming on chart performance, showcasing both the heights of success and the challenges that come with fame.
