Singapore, June 11, 2025: The testnet for the XRP Ledger (XRPL) Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechain is experiencing rapid growth, with the mainnet launch planned for the second quarter, as announced at the APEX 2025 conference.
According to Peersyst Technologies, the testnet, which launched earlier this year, has seen significant expansion. EVM compatibility enables the blockchain to seamlessly run Ethereum-based decentralized applications and smart contracts.
Peersyst reported on X that 87 new entities, previously uninvolved with XRP, are now contributing to the ecosystem, including infrastructure, applications, and demand generation. This could represent the largest onboarding in XRP history when the mainnet goes live.
The EVM sidechain will provide users with opportunities to generate yield through DeFi applications, such as liquidity pools and smart contract interactions.
