Kazakhstan to Launch State Crypto Reserve

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced plans to establish a state-managed cryptocurrency reserve. This move aims to integrate cryptocurrencies into the financial system while maintaining regulatory oversight.

The reserve will be funded through expropriated digital assets and state-run crypto mining operations. Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $107,596 as of June 30, 2025.

This initiative follows President Tokayev's announcement of "CryptoCity," positioning Kazakhstan as a potential crypto hub. The intraday high for Bitcoin was $108,774, and the low was $106,828.
