On June 27, 2025, Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, announced the launch of tokenized stocks for clients in the European Union, starting with MicroStrategy (MSTR) shares. (Source: Gemini, The Block, CoinDesk)
Gemini partnered with Dinari, a company specializing in tokenizing real-world assets, to issue these tokens. Dinari recently obtained a broker-dealer license from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
This move allows traditional financial instruments, like stocks, to be integrated into blockchain-based platforms. Gemini secured a MiFID II license from Malta the previous month, enabling it to offer derivative products across the European Economic Area.
