Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

On June 29, 2025, the Bitcoin network experienced a significant mining difficulty adjustment, decreasing by approximately 7.5% to 116.96 trillion. (Source: The Block, June 29, 2025) This marks the largest negative adjustment since July 2021.

The adjustment occurred at block height 903,168, with the average block time preceding the adjustment being 10 minutes and 38 seconds. The hashrate fell by about 30% over the past two weeks, reaching under 700 exahashes per second (EH/s).

The current Bitcoin price is $107,596, with an intraday high of $108,774 and a low of $106,828. This drop is likely due to miners scaling back operations amid early summer heatwaves, particularly in regions like Texas.
