Bitcoin Reclaims $100,000, Fuels $1 Billion Liquidation Surge

Bitcoin's surge past $100,000 for the first time since early February triggered a $1 billion liquidation event. According to CryptoSlate's data, the price briefly reached $104,000 before settling around $103,000.

Santiment reported over 344,000 new Bitcoin wallets created during the price spike, indicating growing investor interest. Ethereum also saw a significant 25% gain, reaching $2,486, its highest level since March.

CoinGlass data showed short positions accounted for over 80% of total liquidations, exceeding $800 million. Ethereum liquidations totaled $307 million from shorts and $122 million from longs, while Bitcoin saw $332 million in long and $31 million in short liquidations.
