Institutional Crypto Allocation Rises, Bitcoin Dominates Holdings

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

A recent report indicates a growing institutional interest in cryptocurrency, with average crypto allocation in portfolios reaching 2.5%. This shift signifies increased on-chain exposure among institutions and family offices.

Bitcoin (BTC) remains the dominant crypto holding, confirmed by 63% of survey respondents, a rise from 48% in January. Ethereum (ETH) holds the second position with nearly 20%, followed by Solana (SOL) at 17%.

Diversification is the primary reason for crypto inclusion, cited by 30% of respondents. Volatility and regulatory uncertainty remain key barriers to new crypto investments, despite Bitcoin's recent lower volatility than equities.
