Sec Delays Decisions on Five Crypto Etf Applications Until Late 2025

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

On April 29, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) postponed decisions regarding five crypto-related Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). This delay was anticipated by Bloomberg ETF analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas, who noted final deadlines extend into October 2025 or later.

Balchunas suggested the SEC is unlikely to decide until Chair Paul Atkins is fully in office. He indicated that the SEC is strategizing, with potential approvals following.

The final decision deadline for the Franklin Spot XRP ETF is now November 5, 2025. The Franklin Spot Solana ETF awaits a ruling by October 7, 2025, while the Grayscale Hedera ETF and Bitwise Dogecoin ETF are scheduled for October 8, 2025.

These delays align with standard SEC procedures, allowing for extended evaluation periods without immediate rejections.
