Standard Chartered has initiated coverage on XRP, predicting a potential surge to $12.50 by the end of 2028. This forecast is based on XRP's role in global payments and tokenization.
Geoffrey Kendrick, the bank's global head of digital asset research, anticipates XRP's market capitalization will surpass Ethereum within the same timeframe. This would potentially make it the second-largest non-stablecoin digital asset.
Currently, XRP is trading around $2.11. Standard Chartered also expects the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to approve an XRP spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the third quarter of 2025, potentially unlocking between $4 billion and $8 billion in inflows during its first year.
