Bitcoin volatility expected as 170,000 BTC shifts from mid-term holders

Edited by: Elena Weismann

CryptoQuant reported that Bitcoin (BTC) is expected to experience increased volatility. This forecast comes after 170,000 BTC, valued at over $14 billion, moved from wallets held for three to six months.

According to CryptoQuant, movements from this medium-term holder group have historically preceded sharp market shifts. This on-chain behavior has served as an early signal for major price action.

Analysts view this movement as a sign that a sharp move is coming, though the direction remains unclear. Similar patterns emerged before previous surges and corrections, including during 2021's bull run and 2022's capitulation.
