SEC Delays Decision on Grayscale Ethereum ETFs Staking Until June 1

The SEC has postponed its decision regarding staking for Grayscale's Ethereum ETFs (ETHE and ETH) until June 1. This decision affects the $1.9 billion Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF and the $712 million Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF.

This delay aligns with the SEC's postponement of a decision on in-kind redemptions for VanEck's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs (HODL and ETHV). Ethereum ETFs have encountered difficulties this year, including ETHE's price halving and experiencing significant outflows.

The New York Stock Exchange requested permission in early March to permit staking in ETHE, the largest spot-ethereum ETF. The SEC's decision follows the appointment of Paul Atkins as SEC Commissioner on April 9.
