SEC Delays Decisions on Crypto ETF Amendments Until June 2025

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed decisions on two proposed amendments related to crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs), extending review periods for both staking and in-kind redemption models into June 2025, according to CryptoSlate report.

On April 14, the SEC designated June 1, 2025, as the new deadline for Grayscale's Ethereum (ETH) staking filing, which was initially filed on Feb. 14. The proposal involves the Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) and the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH) staking a portion of their ETH holdings.

The SEC also postponed its decision on VanEck filings for in-kind redemptions on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether ETFs until June 3. The amendment, filed on Feb. 19, concerns the VanEck Bitcoin Trust (HODL) and VanEck Ethereum Trust (ETHV), revising the terms for share creation and redemption using digital assets.
