PayPal Expands Crypto Services: Adds Solana and Chainlink Support for US Users

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

PayPal has broadened its cryptocurrency offerings in the United States by incorporating support for Solana (SOL) and Chainlink (LINK). This addition increases the total number of cryptocurrencies available on the platform to seven, which already includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and PayPal USD (PYUSD). Currently, users can buy, sell, and hold SOL and LINK within PayPal. However, the ability to send SOL and LINK to external crypto wallets is not yet supported, unlike BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, and PYUSD. Solana is currently trading at around $117, while Chainlink is priced at approximately $13. These additions reflect PayPal's ongoing efforts to integrate cryptocurrencies into its platform, enhancing accessibility and utility for its users. It's important to note that Solaxy (SOLX), a Solana Layer 2 blockchain project, is unrelated to PayPal's decision to support Solana. Solaxy aims to improve Solana's scalability. The information about Solaxy's presale and potential growth is speculative and should not be considered investment advice.
