CME Group (CME) has announced record-breaking activity in cryptocurrency derivatives for Q1 2025. The average daily volume (ADV) reached 198,000 contracts, equating to $11.3 billion in notional value. This surge was largely fueled by the increased interest in micro-sized contracts. Micro Ether futures hit a record high with 76,000 contracts traded daily. Micro Bitcoin futures also experienced substantial growth, with a 113% year-over-year increase, reaching an ADV of 77,000 contracts. The total quarterly average daily volume across all CME Group's derivatives reached 29.8 million contracts.
